Comcast Xfinity Bill Scam: Is It a Scam?
Scammers send fake Xfinity billing notifications claiming your payment failed or your account is past due. The phishing links lead to fake login pages designed to steal your Xfinity credentials and payment information.
How This Scam Works
You receive an email or text that looks like it comes from Xfinity, warning that your monthly payment could not be processed and your service will be disconnected. A link directs you to a fake Xfinity login page. After entering your username and password, you are asked to update your payment method. The scammers now have your Xfinity login and your credit card number. With your Xfinity account, they can change settings, access your voicemail, or use your login for further identity theft.
Red Flags to Watch For
- Sender email is not from xfinity.com or comcast.com
- Threat of immediate service disconnection
- Link URL does not point to xfinity.com
- Asks you to re-enter full payment details via a link
- Generic greeting instead of your account name
